Minecraft 26.1 is the first release with year-based numbers: 26 for 2026 and 1 for the first game drop of the year. It followed 1.21.11 and got two fix updates, 26.1.1 and 26.1.2, which this list includes. Like every release, it needed new builds of the server software and of every plugin that hooks into the game, so servers moved to it at different speeds.
A server that stays on 26.1 after newer drops are out usually does it on purpose, for example while it waits for a plugin, a datapack or a modpack to be updated. If your launcher is on a newer version, look for servers that run ViaVersion, and if you are still on 1.21.11, look for ViaBackwards. Open a server page before you join to see the exact version it reported to our last ping and the versions its owner lists.
Right now 889 players are on the 11 Minecraft 26.1 servers that answer our pings, out of 12 listed. Over the last four weeks, the busiest hour was around 13:00 UTC. Measured at 23:14 UTC.

Questions
Questions about Minecraft 26.1 servers
Can I join a 26.1 server with Minecraft 1.21.11?
Only if the server runs ViaBackwards, which lets older clients join newer servers. Otherwise install 26.1 in the launcher, it sits in the version list under Installations.
Why does my game show a server version in red?
Red text in the server list means your client and the server run different versions and the server does not accept yours. Switch the launcher to the version the server shows, or pick a server that accepts your version.
Did the new version numbers change how I join servers?
No. You still pick the version in the launcher and connect with the server address. Only the names changed, so a server on 26.1 runs a newer game than one on 1.21.11.
How many Minecraft 26.1 servers are online right now?
11 of the 12 Minecraft 26.1 servers we list answered our last ping at 23:14 UTC with an open world. Together they had 889 players online. 12 of them were playable at least once in the last 7 days.

Which Minecraft versions does this list cover?
Minecraft 26.1 and every update in that line, from 26.1 to 26.1.2. Servers get on this list in two ways: the owner lists the version, or the server reported it to our pinger in the last 14 days. Right now that is 11 from our pinger, 1 from the owner and 0 from both.
Why is it Minecraft 26.1 and not 1.22?
Mojang moved to year-based version numbers after 1.21.11. The first number is the year and the second counts the game drops of that year, so 26.1 is a 2026 release. It came out on 24 March 2026.
